Jason Lacey and his team (Brittany Miller and Katie Bartels) as well as Veterans United's underwriters and closer (Kenzie Ausfahl, if I'm not mistaken) were truly phenomenal in every way. They made the entire process as efficient as it possibly could be. They were rock solid throughout - zero issues - and even were so kind as to repeatedly engage appropriately and effectively to clean up issues created by others in an absolutely horrendous closing overall due to our realtors (not sourced through Veterans United's program that will offer realtor referrals and a slightly lower interest rate, which was a big mistake on our part in hindsight), settlement agent, home inspector and sellers. Jason is in the top 1% of people I have worked with in my life - his competence as a loan officer is as good as it gets, but his character and true desire to help and advise for his client's benefit was what really set him apart. He was willing and able to do whatever it took to advance the process. Jason was politely and professionally relentless in providing everything from the expertise and resources to optimize our interest rate to working hard with entities outside Veterans United to mitigate issues they created. We had the opportunity to work with a lender whose cost structure to close a VA loan and interest rate would have been lower than Veterans United (although we also found a lot more lenders who would have cost us more to close than Veterans United and couldn't offer the interest rates of Veterans United) and thank goodness we choose Veterans United and ended up with Jason and his team - I would encourage home buyers to consider the overall value proposition when choosing the lender with whom they partner rather than simply the costs, as lenders are not a commodity especially for those buyers using the VA loan given its unique requirements and features (Jason and Veterans United proved their mettle as the industry's experts on VA loans). Given the troubling issues created by others in our closing process, I have no doubt that our home purchase simply isn't closed if Jason and his team and Veterans United's closer aren't our lenders and we can't thank Jason, Brittany, Katie, Kenzie and everyone else at Veterans United enough for getting us through this ugly transaction!
I'm very glad I chose Veterans United to purchase my first home. The whole home buying process seemed very overwhelming but they somehow made it understandable in bite size pieces. I was super anxious and lost at the beginning and they held my hand at each step. With their insurance brokerage, I found cheaper auto, home, and flood insurance.
Five stars all the way. My agent and underwriting team made what can be a stressful process feel incredibly smooth and straightforward from start to finish. Communication was clear, timely, and honest every step of the way, and they were always ahead of the game. Any questions I had were answered quickly, and I never felt left in the dark. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and teamwork truly streamlined the entire process and made it as stress-free as possible. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a seamless transaction.

Joey went above & beyond to give us our best experience.
He is very knowledgeable and definitely outperformed the other four competitors that I had applied with!
Brad and his team are the absolute best. They were knowledgeable, quick and kind. I will never recommend another Lending team!
Great company to work with. Good communication all around. Both Haley and Katie were great. Thank you again.
Ryan and Andrew walked me through each step. They reduced barriers that presented. Made the refi a success.
Reach out to Matt Rice, and or Jennifer Shires when trying to get started using you VA loan benefits for purchasing your home. Without a doubt they made my process a boatload easier than had I gone with someone else. They both worked with me while I was in another country just to get stuff ready to make it easier when I got back. Big ups to the both of them.
Fantastic and painless experience

Alberto and his team have been there twice for my family and have always knocked it out of the park.
Mike Pitts and the Closing Department could not have been any more accommodating, professional, and timely. I will highly recommend VU to others. Thank you.
We’ve used VU twice and a smaller lender once for our three total times we’ve purchased a home using the VA Loan. Will highly recommend them over and over as we haven’t seen many other lenders top their customer service and support throughout the process. We always feel informed and like we’re part of the entire process during each step, whereas other lenders keep to themselves while working on things behind the scenes. Grateful for VU and will always recommend them for VA Loans.
Overall, excellent. Especially for a real estate novice like me. Very attentive staff, they cover every aspect of the process and explain things very well. One issue was a few communication gaps between the real estate agent and the loan officer and the insurance team.
I couldn't have done it without Veterans United. I am 79 and the houses I bought before I paid cash so this is my first experience financing a home. Veterans United took care of most everything. The things I had to do they walked me through it. As I said I couldn't have done it without Veterans United.
